You have 24 hours on Nantucket, what do you do? In a short time period, there’s a plethora of activities and must dos. There’s a lot to squeeze in one day. Since you’re here for less than 24 hours, we suggest you fly to Nantucket via Cape Air or Jet Blue. Both airlines offer convenient direct flights from Boston, New York, and Washington, DC. If flying is not your thing, take the fast ferry over on the Hy-line Cruises, Steamship or Seastreak Ferry
We all know one of the main reasons for visiting the Island of Nantucket is to catch a few rays at the beach; Jetties Beach is a great family beach with a restaurant and restrooms. For your convenience, The Wave, Nantucket’s public transportation, is available for pick up and drop off at the Whaling Museum just a few blocks away from the Inn and will shuttle you to the beach. Treat yourself to a Mai Tai at the Sandbar and scrumptious fish and chips.
After a few hours at the beach, you’ll need to re-fuel, grab an iced chai latte at Handlebar Cafe. Give yourself a few hours to poke your head in a few shops. Murray’s Toggery Shop, Vineyard Vines, Lily Pulitzer, Nantucket Looms,are just a few island favorites. Now that you have some new threads, grab a bottle of rose, cheese and crackers at Current Vintage and head back to the inn to enjoy a cold drink on our relaxing pergola.
Nantucket sunsets are something we like to boast about, head to Galley Beach and make sure you get a few sunset selfies. Now that you have worked yourself up an appetite, enjoy a delicious dinner at Straight Wharf Restaurant, offering summer classics. Save room for dessert, you can’t leave Nantucket without getting a waffle cone at the Juice Bar. A night cap can be enjoyed at the Club Car, a lively piano bar.
