Queequeg and Town, two bustling Nantucket restaurants, are back to back neighbors along South Water Street, just a block from the Brass Lantern. Because of their location, they share the Tree Bar, an outdoor patio bar that spans the two outdoor patios – a great place to stop by for a late afternoon or evening drink and to watch the crowds go by.
Named for Queequeg from Moby Dick, Queequeg (the restaurant) boasts a whale themed décor in its inside dining rooms, with beadboard wainscot and a cozy
pub feel. Service is enthusiastic and friendly and the food is delicious and beautifully presented. Don’t let the casual welcoming feel of the restaurant mislead you – an excellent menu and wonderful food awaits!
Town, on the other hand, offers pan global cuisine and a distinctly sophisticated Asian-influenced décor. Just inside the entrance and across from the bar, there are high top tables which can be joined for groups. Also for groups, a great corner banquette that can seat six to eight people. The rest of the tables are around the perimeter of the room. All of the benches and seats have cushions and puffy pillows for your comfort. If you like sushi, Malaysian food, naan and tagines, come to Town for your dining experience!
Both Town and Queequeg are pet friendly restaurants on their outdoor patios – call ahead to be sure they can accommodate you and your pooch!
