Enjoy fabulous food and wine while benefitting Nantucket Island Youth. All the proceeds from this yearโs Annual Nantucket Wine & Food Festival will support the Culinary Arts Mentoring Program by underwriting the costs of visiting chefs, field trips for the students, and paid student employment opportunities.
This festival will offer advice, education, tastings, and culinary experiences from 56 vintners, 57 chefs, 33 Sommeliers, and 20 presenters! You will find fine wines and fine food galore during the five-day event. Most of the events of this festival are located within just a few blocks of the Brass Lantern Inn!
The Wine Festival begins with the Welcome Reception on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 5:00pm. This special night gives you the opportunity to meet and greet the chefs, presenters, and wine makers. Wine for this event will be provided by Larkin Wines, Domaine Franรงois Villard, Opus One, Flowers Vineyard & Winery, and Domaine des Deux Roches.
Thursday offers a full day or activities and fun. Begin your day with yoga, breakfast, and sparkling wine. Fill the day with a French lunch honoring the culture of Louis XIII and a bit of education about the history of French wines and food. During the mid-day, there are lots of choices to make. Learn about American cheeses and wines, taste some wines from the Donelan Family Wines, sample La Grande Dame de la Champagne at an historic home on the island, or match a gourmet food (caviar) with the perfect indulgent wine.
End the day with the Harbor Gala. This is THE signature event of the Nantucket Wine Festival where 40 Restaurants and 40 Wineries create an extravagant event for all.
Begin Friday with music by the City Winery Marching Band, coffee, and a Mimosa at the Harbor Breakfast. Participating chefs will be making omelets. Specialty pastries, gourmet bagels, and fresh juices will give you a great start to your day. Purchase a full-day pass for the Culinary Tent and have access to cooking demos, food samples, entertainment, and shopping all day long.
Friday offers a wide variety of wine and culinary tasting experiences. At the end of the day, there are six different dinners to choose from! Check out the complete schedule and plan your day!
Saturday includes a special womenโs event with the Dames Dรฉjeuner. Leaders (who happen to be female) in the wine and culinary world will prepare an extraordinary lunch and will include a toast to โLa Grande Dame of Champagneโ, Madame Clicquot.
There will be two Grand Tastings during the day on Saturday with an opportunity to experience wines from 150 wineries from around the world! For dinner, try paring your wine in a poetic fashion at one of the dinner offerings. The Saturday night party, โThe Yellow Partyโ, will be held at the Nantucket Hotel including bubbles and nibbles.
Sunday, May 21, 2017 will feature the Junior Top Chef Competition from 10:00am to noon. The winner of this competition is the Nantucket High School Culinary Arts Program with the prize being $5000 in scholarship funds. Watch as the teams strategize with a chef mentor and prepare a meal with the mystery items they are given to use in their tasty creations.
From 3-5pm, Nantucket will say Bon Voyage with some last tastes of the weekend found in the Culinary Tent. RockStar Chefs Jose Enrique and Linkie Marias will provide the amazing foods for this fond farewell.
