For the 17th year, Nantucket will be the setting for the Nantucket Wine Festival, which takes place from May 14 – 17, 2014. Over the years, the Nantucket Wine Festival has become one of the most celebrated and respected wine and food events in the country. All of the main events – the Harbor Gala, Culinary Marketplace and Grand Tastings – take place just a short walk from the Brass Lantern – at the Nantucket Yacht Club, Children’s Beach and the White Elephant Hotel.
The Brass Lantern is pleased to be a lodging partner of the Wine Festival and especially pleased to welcome Robert Sinskey of Robert Sinskey Vineyards as our guest for the duration of the Festival.
(From the website) Rob Sinskey believes that the goals of making luxuriously elegant wines and farming with earth friendly methods are not mutually exclusive. Rather, he has found that caring for the land and conscientious business practices have helped to define the well-crafted wines of RSV. Over the past twenty-five years, Sinskey has grown his 100% organic and Biodynamic certified winegrowing operation to over 200 acres of premium vineyards in the Carneros and Stags Leap districts of Napa and Sonoma Valleys. He holds true to the philosophy that “Wine is not an athletic event.” Wine should not be a “quick study,” but rather, sneak up on you, seduce you, and evolve in the glass and in the bottle.
Our guests during wine festival will receive complimentary tickets to the Culinary Marketplace which will be on Children’s Beach Friday and Saturday. Enjoy food and wine tasting under the tent on beautiful Nantucket Harbor! We will also offer a small wine and cheese tasting at the Inn of Saturday for our guests.
