Start a new tradition – come to Nantucket for Thanksgiving!
Arrive on Wednesday evening or early on Thursday to fully enjoy the Thanksgiving events on Nantucket. First up on Thanksgiving morning, the Cold Turkey Plunge – a fundraiser for the Weezie Children’s Library at the Nantucket Atheneum. Watch – or join – the hundreds of ‘plungers’ who rush into the chilly waters at Children’s Beach, at least for a few minutes, and then rush out again!
For dinner, enjoy a Thanksgiving Dinner Nantucket-style – restaurants serving dinner include the Oran Mor, the Company of the Cauldron, Fifty-Six Union, the SeaGrille, the Brant Point Grill at the White Elephant and the Breeze Cafe at the Nantucket Hotel – advance reservations are a must!
On Friday it is time to just take a breath, relax, ruminate and rejuvenate… Walk the beach, read a book, stroll around Town – but be sure to go to the top of Main Street at dusk for the Community Carol Sing and the lighting of the 100+ Christmas trees that line Main, Centre, Federal and Broad streets. In the blink of an eye – it’s Christmas…
Get a head start on your holiday shopping – all our lovely shops will be well stocked with loads of sales and decorated for Christmas Stroll that takes place the following weekend.
The three day Thanksgiving package at the Brass Lantern includes three nights stay, two round trip Steamship Authority fast ferry tickets, and a welcoming bottle of wine with a fruit and cheese platter. Package rates start at $765 for a queen room and you can add a fourth day for just $150! Wouldn’t you really rather be on Nantucket for Thanksgiving??
